How do you ensure privacy when accessing my accounts?


Protecting our users’ privacy is of great professional - and personal - importance to us at SwiftKey. We frankly would not be where we are today without the trust of our users, and it’s paramount that we maintain this. We abide by incredibly strict data security policies, all in accord with European user data laws (which are stricter than those in the US). How does Cloud work with a new phone or device?


Typically Cloud works to seamlessly sync your personal language model as well as all purchases / downloads from the SwiftKey Store. All you need to do is sign into Cloud using the same Google Account. We highly recommend enabling SwiftKey Cloud for its multiple benefits: personalization, better predictions, SwiftKey Store access, backup and sync and more.

If I uninstall SwiftKey, will I lose my learned language?

 
If you have signed up to SwiftKey Cloud, and enabled Backup & Sync, then uninstalling SwiftKey Keyboard from a device will not lose your learned language.

How do I delete my SwiftKey Cloud account?


If you no longer wish to use SwiftKey Cloud services, or would like to change the account associated with SwiftKey Cloud, then you can do so by following these steps:
  1. Go into  SwiftKey Settings
  2. Select ‘SwiftKey Cloud’
  3. Scroll down to ‘Delete SwiftKey Cloud account
  4. Select ‘OK’

What do I do if I've lost my learned language data?


If SwiftKey Keyboard has stopped predicting your learned language data, please try these simple steps:
  1. Make sure you already have Cloud Backup and sync turned on first, otherwise the next step will remove all your data
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Select ‘SwiftKey Cloud’
  4. Logout of SwiftKey Cloud
  5. Sign back into SwiftKey Cloud with the same Google account

I just got a new phone, where are the Themes and content I bought?


Your purchased themes and content are all backed up to your SwiftKey Cloud account. Just as apps you download from Google Play are assigned to a Google account, your SwiftKey Keyboard content works the same way.

What is Personalization?


Personalization allows you to “teach” SwiftKey Keyboard more about your personal dictionary and style by learning from your social accounts. Personalize with one simple click from your Gmail, Facebook, Evernote, Google+, Yahoo! Mail, Twitter, RSS, and SMS accounts/archives.

What is Backup and Sync?


If you are signed up to SwiftKey Cloud (see the article ‘What is SwiftKey Cloud?’ here for further information), and have enabled Backup & Sync, then the words and phrases that matter to you are backed up securely and seamlessly synced across all of your devices.

How do I withdraw consent to share data with SwiftKey?


Unless you are signed into SwiftKey Cloud all personal and language data to create your personal language model is stored locally on your phone and is not shared with SwiftKey. If you are signed into Cloud, some data is shared with SwiftKey in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

To withdraw consent, you simply need to delete your Cloud account. To do this follow these steps:
  1. From the SwiftKey Settings Menu please tap ‘SwiftKey Cloud’
  2. In the bottom section tap the 2nd options - ‘Delete you SwiftKey Cloud Account’
  3. Tap the ‘Delete’ option in the dialogue box.
